About Our Client

Our non-profit GTA based client is looking for Senior Director/VP, Finance to lead the finance team and help support continued growth plans for the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all finance functions, ensuring all processes and procedures are fully up to date and aligned with organizational goals
  • Evaluating current strategic plans for effectiveness; strategic priorities
  • Providing strategic direction for all financial strategies, new initiatives, growth plans
  • Managing finance team; developing and providing support to ensure individual and organizational growth objectives are met
  • Managing cashflow, investments, banking relationships
  • Ensuring all reporting is timely, accurate and consistently meeting all deadlines
  • Regularly reviewing workflows, financial software systems to ensure processes are looked at with an eye for continuous improvement
  • Presenting and providing analysis of all financials to senior leadership, board of directors
  • Managing strong relationships across the organization and externally with other senior leadership, board of directors, funders
  • Ensuring financial assets are safeguarded, managing risk and exposure
  • Managing/overseeing annual audit


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in commerce, finance and/or accounting from a recognized university
  • Designated CPA
  • Experience in non-profit sector
  • 10+ years of experience with significant track record of strong people management during those years
  • Demonstrated experience leading the goal-setting and performance-management process
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of technology - specifically utilizing to create efficiencies
  • Excellent time manager, organizational skills
  • Flexible and positive approach - solution focused, open to new ideas and initiatives
