About our Client

Our client is a leader in Equipment rentals, it is their mission to become the first choice for earthmoving equipment rentals and sales across Western Canada. Specializing in articulated rock trucks and mini to heavy crawler excavators. They are growing rapidly and are looking for ambitious professional FLEET MANAGER/HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC to join their Chilliwack, BC te office. The Fleet Manager / Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of large, medium, and light duty machines and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. This role requires a strong commitment to inventory control, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients.
Salary ranges from 90-120K.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on heavy equipment.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on rental fleet equipment.

  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately assess and repair machinery.

  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and service history.

  • Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely and efficient turnaround of equipment.

  • Provide field service support, including on-site troubleshooting and repairs as required.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols to promote a safe working environment.

  • Stay current with industry developments and emerging technologies in heavy equipment maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certified Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.

  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.

  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and software.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class 3 or 1 license is an asset.

  • Physically capable of lifting heavy components and working in various weather conditions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
