Job Description

Our client is a talented Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role provides critical support across financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, and assigned operational streams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, supporting audits, and improving financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis

  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, working papers, and analytical reports.

  • Document and enhance financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.

  • Support external audits and respond to related inquiries.

  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting and insights to aid decision-making.

Operational Streams & Tasks

  • Manage assigned operational tasks such as government filings, disbursements, and reconciliations.

  • Perform month-end close, accruals, and provisions.

  • Review financial data for accuracy, assist with investment accounting, and ensure compliance with filing requirements.

Other Support

  • Provide backup support to finance colleagues during peak periods.

  • Build relationships with stakeholders and support process improvements.

  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance reporting and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting/Business.

  • CPA designation (or in progress) preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally including full-cycle accounting and exposure to the not-for-profit sector.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, data functions) and experience with G/L extraction tools (JET, Power BI, etc.).

  • Skilled communicator with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
