Our client is a talented Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role provides critical support across financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, and assigned operational streams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, supporting audits, and improving financial processes.
Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis
Prepare financial statements, budgets, working papers, and analytical reports.
Document and enhance financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
Support external audits and respond to related inquiries.
Provide ad hoc financial reporting and insights to aid decision-making.
Operational Streams & Tasks
Manage assigned operational tasks such as government filings, disbursements, and reconciliations.
Perform month-end close, accruals, and provisions.
Review financial data for accuracy, assist with investment accounting, and ensure compliance with filing requirements.
Other Support
Provide backup support to finance colleagues during peak periods.
Build relationships with stakeholders and support process improvements.
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance reporting and operational efficiency.
Post-secondary education in Accounting/Business.
CPA designation (or in progress) preferred, or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally including full-cycle accounting and exposure to the not-for-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, data functions) and experience with G/L extraction tools (JET, Power BI, etc.).
Skilled communicator with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
