About the Role:
Our Client, a leading Canadian organization is seeking a Director of Facilities to join their team and lead the operational, strategic, and capital planning efforts for a prominent downtown Toronto property. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day building operations, long-term maintenance planning, and capital improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure the facility continues to operate at the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily facility operations, budgets, and capital improvement projects
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance and safety programs

  • Lead and develop the facilities team to ensure high performance and service quality

  • Respond to and resolve operational issues and vendor challenges

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term facility strategy and business continuity planning

  • Manage capital project delivery from planning through construction

  • Maintain building security, fire safety, waste management, and landscaping contracts

  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support facility goals


Requirements:

  • 8+ years of senior-level facilities management experience in a corporate or institutional setting

  • Strong background in HVAC, capital planning, security systems, and regulatory compliance

  • Proven experience managing vendors, contracts, and cross-functional teams

  • Skilled in maintenance programs and emergency preparedness planning

  • Strong communicator with executive-level presentation and collaboration skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Facilities, Architecture, or related field

  • FMP designation (preferred); post-graduate degree an asset
