About Our Client:

Our client, located in Toronto, is an exciting & dynamic event management company and looking for a Director of IT to join their team. If you love sports, media & entertainment, this could be the place for you!

Responsibilities:

Direct the implementation of company-wide IT Strategy, including technological infrastructure and systems to ensure business efficiencies and continuity
Lead the IT team, providing ongoing mentorship, modeling best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Oversee the management of IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation
Build and maintain an IT systems environment that is scalable and supports organic growth
Provide strategic insights into emerging technologies that can be leveraged to improve the internal processes and external work product
Collaborate with company executives to implement solutions that align with and support their business goals
Guide the development and implementation of proper controls, policies, processes, and procedures to ensure infrastructure systems, related applications, hardware, and software are secure and in corporate, regulatory, and legal compliance
Oversee their IT hardware asset inventory as well as digital storage systems, such as cloud storage and network-attached storage
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders, colleagues, and vendors to perform job functions effectively

Requirements:

15+ years’ work experience in an IT Leadership role or similar position within an enterprise work environment
University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Proven track record of leading technology team(s) through change management initiatives
Ability to identify technology needs and provide recommendations to the executive team
Strong background in managing IT budgets and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Knowledge of Cisco Meraki and Ubiquity networking, including firewall and threat protection is an asset
Prior experience managing Group Policy, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory
Working knowledge of NetSuite, Smartsheet, Microsoft 365, OKTA, Webroot security endpoint, Veaam, and off-site cloud back-ups is preferred
Able to travel internationally, as some travel may be required
