Director of Growth – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Our top client in software development located in the center of Downtown Toronto is seeking a dynamic Director of Growth to lead an M&A deal sourcing team. The role involves sourcing, qualifying, and managing acquisition opportunities, and developing strategies to maintain a high-quality deal pipeline. The Director will hire, train, and manage a team of business development professionals while building relationships with business owners, CEOs, investment bankers, and private equity firms. The ideal candidate will have a proven M&A track record, team leadership experience, and strong management skills in a fast-paced environment.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned Deal Lead focused on high-volume SaaS sales across North America to put their DNA into developing and growing a team.

This role comes with a competitive based salary (pending years of experience), a hybrid work model 2-3 times a week onsite only (with flexibility once ramped up!), benefits day 1, 3 weeks vacation, RRSP matching, variable bonus, stock options, and more!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach a growing team in sourcing and nurturing M&A opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute prospecting campaigns through various channels (LinkedIn, calls, trade shows).
  • Manage and analyze CRM data for prospecting and lead nurturing.
  • Support team members in achieving targets and growing the business pipeline.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3-5 years of M&A/VC/PE deal sourcing experience.
  • Must have at least 2-3 years of high-volume SaaS sales and leadership experience
  • Must be able to travel once a month across North America to meetings and tradeshows
  • Proven experience in leading and developing business development teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Salesforce proficiency and SalesLoft experience are an asset.
