Salary Range: base between $120,000 - $140,000 - depending on experience



ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client, a high-growth beauty and personal care company, is seeking a forward-thinking Director of E-commerce to lead digital growth and optimize online sales performance across platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, direct-to-consumer channels (DTC), and major retail marketplaces. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with deep expertise in e-commerce operations, digital marketing, and omnichannel retail strategies. A background in the Beauty, Cosmetics, Personal Care, Fashion/ Lifestyle, or CPG industries is an asset.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Ecommerce will perform a diverse range of functions including but limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate retailer e-commerce strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of Amazon, direct-to-consumer, and retail e-commerce channels, including P&L, financial forecasting, advertising campaigns, inventory management, and performance reporting.
  • Standardize e-commerce reporting, including Amazon analytics, and present insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Amazon Vendor and Seller Central, Walmart Connect, Criteo, and similar marketplace tools.
  • Identify and expand presence on new e-commerce platforms and marketplaces such as Instacart, Cornershop, and iHerb to enhance digital footprint.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party agencies to ensure e-commerce goals are met efficiently.
  • Develop and optimize high-performing product listings with enhanced content, strategic promotions, and targeted on-site advertising.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including ROAS, CPC, CTR, conversion rates, and market share, and make data-driven decisions to enhance performance.
  • Review and approve financials related to e-commerce accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Design and implement streamlined e-commerce processes that improve speed to consumer, item forecasting accuracy, and in-stock rates.
  • Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure smooth fulfillment of purchase orders and resolve potential logistical challenges.
  • Develop and execute paid search strategies across retailer websites, ensuring optimal budget allocation and campaign effectiveness.
  • Lead continuous testing and optimization efforts, including audience segmentation, channel expansion, and messaging variations.
  • Provide strategic guidance on paid search opportunities and recommend innovative approaches to digital ad campaigns and platform enhancements.
  • Work cross-functionally with creative and marketing teams to develop engaging ad creatives that align with brand guidelines and drive conversions.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in e-commerce, with a proven track record of managing online retail strategies for large-scale brands.
  • Extensive experience working with major e-commerce retailers such as Amazon, Target, and Walmart.
  • Expertise in platforms like Amazon Vendor/Seller Central and Walmart Connect.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, analytics platforms, content management systems, and e-commerce reporting.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and lead within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external agency relationships to achieve key objectives.
  • Strong project management skills, seamlessly transitioning between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Analytical expertise to interpret performance data and inform business strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Upbeat, team-oriented, and collaborative personality.
  • A background in Beauty, Cosmetics, or CPG industries is an asset
