Position Title: Director, Human Resources

Salary & Benefits: $140,000-$170,000

Location: Ottawa, ON

Work Model: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite

With a vision towards creating a best-in-class organization, the Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing all facets of human resources within a fast-paced, global environment. This includes talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, training and development, and organizational culture. You will serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team while also providing hands-on support to employees and managers. Leading a team of three HR professionals, you will drive initiatives that align with business goals and enhance employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Oversee recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent while ensuring diversity and inclusion best practices.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with global employment laws.
  • Performance Management & Development: Design and manage performance review processes, career development programs, and leadership training initiatives.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and benefits administration to attract and retain talent.
  • HR Operations & Process Improvement: Optimize HR workflows and leverage HR technology to improve efficiency and employee experience.
  • Culture & Engagement: Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement programs, DEI initiatives, and employee recognition efforts.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Utilize data and analytics to assess HR effectiveness and support decision-making.

The ideal candidate for this HR Director role will have a proven track record of at least 15 years of progressive growth in Human Resources, with a strong background in leadership and hands-on experience within a global tech environment. You will bring your experience from another global technology company to help lead and drive change. The HR Director should possess a deep understanding of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and organizational development. A strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals, the candidate should demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to influence senior leadership. Experience in managing and mentoring a team, ideally of 3 or more professionals, and a strong understanding of HR best practices are essential. We are looking for someone who brings both the qualitative and quantitative side of HR and balances it with business acumen, compassion, empathy and vision.

Must be secret security clearance eligible to be considered.
