Our client, a Logistics company located in the Mississauga area, is looking for a Customs Clearance Sales Representative to join their fast-growing team. In this role, you will focus on driving revenue growth by identifying and securing profitable business opportunities, creating long-term strategies for business expansion, and building strong, lasting relationships with key clients. You will play an integral part in enhancing their operational plans, leading client meetings, and keeping key stakeholders informed of significant business developments. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership role.
Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities for customs clearance services through cold calling, networking, and lead generation. Nurture relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Client Consultations: Conduct thorough needs assessments with both potential and current clients to understand their customs clearance requirements, providing customized recommendations to optimize their import/export processes.
- Service Promotion: Effectively communicate the value of the company’s customs clearance services, emphasizing key benefits like regulatory compliance, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Quotation & Proposal Management: Prepare accurate, competitive quotes and create tailored proposals to meet the specific needs of clients.
- Client Education: Educate clients on relevant customs regulations, documentation needs, and procedures to ensure a smooth and efficient customs clearance process.
- Collaboration: Partner with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery, addressing and resolving any challenges during the customs clearance process.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to identify new sales leads and enhance service offerings.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, tracking client information, sales activities, and progress toward sales goals. Regularly report on sales activities, challenges, and opportunities to management
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of sales experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or customs clearance is preferred.
- Familiarity with international trade practices and customs regulations is a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of complex customs regulations and their application.
- Customer-focused with exceptional relationship-building capabilities.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) is a plus.
