Our tier-one and well-established client has a plant in the GTA (west). We are seeking a talented cost accounting professional. When considering this opening you should have exceptionally strong standard costing and supply chain experience. Moreover, as a Cost Accountant (senior) you've worked in mid to large size SOX complaint plants with practical ERP systems experience. This great opportunity requires working 5 days a week at the plant working alongside a high-caliber accounting team.
Responsibilities:
Manage the standard costing system within MS Dynamics 365, overseeing the development and annual update of standard costs for new items, accompanied by comprehensive analysis and documentation.
Assist in new product development and innovation by conducting costing analyses for new products, changes, and promotional activities, including sensitivity analysis and identification of risks/opportunities for proposals.
Conduct month-end closing procedures, covering journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, management reports, and variance analysis, comparing results against standard/budget/forecast.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to establish the annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
Evaluate asset utilization, resource allocation, and outsourcing alternatives, providing insights and recommendations to support network optimization.
Investigate, review, and analyze key plant operations metrics, presenting recommendations for improvements.
Support manufacturing teams in conducting root cause countermeasure analyses related to labor, material, efficiency, and overhead losses.
Perform ad-hoc research and analysis to support manufacturing initiatives.
Provide financial analysis for capital expenditure requests, incorporating ROI, Payback Period, and NPV assessments.
Deliver training and support to plant staff to enhance their knowledge and understanding of finance basics.
Execute SOX compliance activities and offer support for internal and external audit engagements.
Uphold and contribute to plant initiatives, encompassing Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO, and Health and Safety.
Skills and Qualifications:
Possess strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
Demonstrate experience with standard costing in an ERP environment. MS Dynamic is a high preference
Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Advanced usage of MS Excel
Possess relevant education in Finance or equivalent work experience is considered an asset.
