Controller

Our client in Vaughan, is seeking a dynamic Controller to join our team, offering a clear progression toward a Director of Finance role. In this hands-on position, you will be a key partner to both the finance and operations teams, driving initiatives in cost of goods sold (COGS) management, financial reporting, and process improvement.

This role provides a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership, sharpen analytical skills, and contribute to strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives on ownership, continuous improvement, and is eager to grow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead product costing processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive profitability models
• Analyze and report on gross margin, COGS, material, labor, and overhead variances
• Manage monthly financial close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance
• Provide strategic financial insight and support for company-wide initiatives

Top 3 Requirements:

1. Manufacturing Experience: A proven track record of 5+ years in a financial role within the manufacturing sector is a must
2. CPA or Final Stages: A CPA designation or being in the final stages of obtaining it is essential for success in this role
3. Supervisory Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage cross-functional projects

Additional Qualifications:

• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) and experience with financial software systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
