Controller - Real Estate Development

About Our Client

We've had the pleasure of assisting this global developer in building their Toronto team. They're reputable and known for their positive, inclusive culture. Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will manage a broad scope of tasks, such as ensuring the accuracy and propriety of all financial data and reports maintained and prepared for the properties/projects, tier entities, and investors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of property operations and budgeting
  • Ensure the construction draws and financial reporting are done efficiently and accurately
  • Assists on new project due diligences and property acquisitions
  • Manage and supervise a team of Assistant Controllers and Projects Accountants
Requirements
  • CPA designation
  • 10+ years of strong knowledge of IFRS and real-estate accounting experience
  • 2+ years of managing a senior team in the commercial real estate space
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach
