About Our Client

A leading company in the real estate industry, is seeking a highly skilled Interim Controller to join their finance team on a contract basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to make a significant impact on the organization during a transitional period. The Interim Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial stability, providing strategic guidance, and leading the finance team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial operations, including financial reporting, analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, FP&A, payroll, and capital structure
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the leadership team on forecasting, budgeting, and developing financial strategies to optimize profitability, cash flow, and return on investment
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements, while identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments, including property management and operations, to drive financial performance and operational excellence
  • Acquisitions: Support the integration of new assets and acquisitions into the financial structure of the organization
  • External Relations: Maintain strong relationships with consultants, lenders, and external auditors

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with a CPA designation
  • Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including at least 5 years in a senior management role
  • Industry Expertise: Strong background in real estate finance and property management is highly desirable
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and ASPE
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic environment
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information to diverse stakeholders
