Our client is a unique Crown Corporation located in Ottawa’s downtown core. With a workforce of just under 1000 employees, our client is innovative and forward thinking as it relates to project planning and taking on new initiatives. With an eye towards supporting our military and defense, our client specializes in project planning, property management, and environmental services. With an established leadership group and tenured team, our client has been looking for an established Bilingual Content Specialist who is able to help provide guidance and support to the translation team amongst the communications department.
The role of the Bilingual Content & Revision Specialist will be to working within the communications team and help provide revisions and quality control to various communications initiatives. We are looking for someone who has worked with creative text and translation services to help with content for internal and external communications amongst all departments. You will be expected to review and revise documents and ensure translation quality control. You ensure th4e accuracy and clarity of the translation and help develop and maintain and terminology management system. Coming from the public sector, you will be able to maintain current understanding of evolving government terminology and help build efficiencies and best practices within the transaction team. You will be required to maintain relationships with internal clients and external vendors and supplies and ensure that the corporate standards are met. Working in both English & French translation, you will be able to troubleshoot complex linguistic challenges and dissect the nuances and subtleties of language and messaging. You will report into the Team Lead, who will require you to research and develop content in French that meets cultural equivalency in both texts.
The Ideal Candidate will bring exceptional language skills in both English & French. You will be able to translate between both languages and have command of translation software and databases. You will bring a minimum of five (5) years experience in translation, editing, writing, and research. You will be able to learn new terminology quickly to adapt to the new industry. We are looking for a team player who can self direct and motivate. You will bring post-secondary education in translation, linguistics or a related field and have ideally worked within a translation agency before. You will bring an eye for detail, and a passion for what you do. Communication skills are needed because you will be expected to build relationships with suppliers and internal clients to help project manage.
While this role is fully remote, you will be expected to come to Ottawa for a quarterly meetings.
To qualify for this role, you MUST be enhanced security cleared to join this team and thereby located in Canada.
