TITLE: Brand Director
LOCATION: GTA – Vaughan
WORK TYPE: On-Site | Full-time, permanent | 4 days in-office, 1 day remote
COMPENSATION: $160,000–$180,000 base salary + annual target bonus
ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a growing beauty and personal care company with a portfolio of established brands across haircare, personal care, and beauty-led wellness. They are hiring multiple Brand Directors to lead distinct brands within the portfolio.
These opportunities are suited to hands-on brand leaders who can combine consumer insight, creative storytelling, and commercial discipline. You will own the brand end-to-end, including positioning, portfolio strategy, innovation, communication, go-to-market execution, and performance across Amazon and brick-and-mortar retail.
Brand assignments span accessible clean personal care, certified organic beauty and wellness, and broader beauty and haircare. Each role offers substantial ownership and cross-functional influence in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Brand Director will:
- Define and evolve the brand’s vision, positioning, messaging, and long-term growth strategy.
- Translate consumer, category, and competitive insights into clear brand priorities and commercially viable growth opportunities.
- Lead innovation from concept through commercialization, partnering with Product Development, Regulatory, and Operations.
- Manage portfolio direction, including product additions, deletions, lifecycle decisions, and SKU optimization.
- Establish brand standards and ensure consistent positioning and storytelling across consumer touchpoints.
- Define communication priorities and partner with Marketing Communications on integrated campaigns across digital, retail media, PR, influencer, and in-store channels.
- Lead launch strategy and execution across Amazon and mass, drug, grocery, and specialty retail.
- Partner with Sales on retailer presentations, sell-in, shelf strategies, merchandising, and growth plans.
- Manage brand performance across revenue, profitability, and investment efficiency, supporting forecasting and budget management.
- Use POS, Nielsen, Amazon analytics, and consumer research to diagnose performance, evaluate marketing and innovation ROI, and guide decisions.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration and communicate priorities, business recommendations, and results to senior stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of brand management experience within beauty, wellness, personal care, or adjacent CPG categories.
- Proven end-to-end brand ownership, from strategy and innovation through launch execution and commercial performance.
- Experience managing product innovation from consumer insight and concept development through commercialization.
- Strong understanding of Amazon and brick-and-mortar retail, including online content and conversion, retail velocity, shelf positioning, and merchandising.
- Commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and decisions affecting profitability.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate consumer and sales data into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated engagement with beauty and personal care; haircare experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in an environment with competing priorities.
- MBA preferred.
- Ability to work onsite in Vaughan four days per week.
Experience with clean, organic, natural, or ingredient-conscious products is particularly relevant to some brand assignments.
