About the Role:

The Bilingual Collections Associate is tasked with evaluating and recovering overdue accounts while ensuring positive and respectful interactions with customers. This role primarily involves handling inbound calls, making outbound calls, and responding to customer emails, along with various administrative tasks to meet individual and team collection goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage collections on active accounts at any stage of delinquency to maximize payments.
  • Handle end-of-term billing for terminated accounts.
  • Collect on First Payment Default accounts and investigate potential fraud.
  • Address missed First Payment accounts and resolve related procedural issues.
  • Work on non-performing loans and negotiate optimal payment solutions.
  • Recommend accounts for the Notice of Default process.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Collections Analyst in a B2C collections environment
  • Familiarity with Canadian collection practices and regulations.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Knowledgeable ineffective collection techniques for late-stage delinquent accounts.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle conflict and de-escalate situations, finding mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking French is required.
