Overview:
Our client, a leader in the wholesale building materials industry, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Ontario fastener market. This is a field-based role ideal for a natural sales hunter who thrives on building strong relationships and uncovering new business opportunities.

You'll be responsible for generating revenue from both existing clients and new prospects, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to overall market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximize retention and growth

  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and execute strategic sales plans

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities

  • Partner with the inside sales team to achieve territory sales goals

  • Deliver exceptional service by addressing client questions and concerns promptly

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to management

  • Stay up to date on product knowledge and industry developments through ongoing training

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of outside sales experience, ideally in the fastener or building materials industry

  • Proven success in business development and account management

  • Strong technical knowledge of fastener products and their applications (preferred)

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working independently and managing a travel-heavy schedule across GTA

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
