Job Description

Role Summary:

Our property management client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Bilingual Business Analyst to join their team. As a Bilingual Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business decisions by analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, improve processes, and support the development of strategies that align with organizational goals. This role will work within the accounts receivable and leasing team supporting the business unit as required. This role may be based out of either Toronto, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec and is hybrid, with 3 days a week in office.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large sets of data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present data-driven insights to stakeholders.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to management.
  • Prepare and present accounts receivable aging reports, and cash flow projections, and other financial analysis reports to the management team.
  • Identify trends in receivables and propose solutions to improve collections and reduce delinquencies.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to gather feedback, discuss findings, and present recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, including IT, marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment on business goals.
  • Provide regular updates to management on project progress, risks, and opportunities.

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Monitor and manage tenant accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Process and post payments into the accounting system, including checks, ACH, and credit card transactions.
  • Reconcile tenant accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Invoicing & Billing:

  • Generate and distribute monthly rent statements, invoices, and other related billing documents.
  • Ensure all charges are accurate, reflect lease agreements, and comply with company policies.


Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, company policies, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations of accounts receivable processes.


Process Improvement:

  • Analyze current accounts receivable processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices for collections, tenant communication, and accounts reconciliation.

Qualifications:

  • Language: Bilingual in French & English is required (both written and verbal proficiency).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within an analyst position, preferably within the property management or real estate industry.
  • Familiarity with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio) is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants and internal teams.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in processing financial transactions.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
