Our reputable client in the engineering sector is currently seeking a Bilingual Billing Analyst to join their team!
This is a permanent, full-time role based out of the Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal office (3 days a week onsite).
Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Project Directors to determine accurate monthly billing amounts.
Prepare client invoices in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and contract terms.
Review contracts for each new project and set up all invoicing templates and procedures accordingly.
Record invoices in the accounting system.
Reconcile and include sub-consultant billings (fees and reimbursable expenses) in project invoices.
Collaborate with the cash receipts team to resolve cash application variances and clean up unallocated cash.
Monitor cash receipts daily against the sub-contractor billing tracker to release payments per the pay-when-paid policy.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of monthly activities in customer billing, accounts payable, and accounting entries.
Assist project teams with follow-up and collection of aging invoices.
Identify and correct quality control issues such as duplicate billing, data entry errors, or system setup errors.
Monitor key financial project metrics such as aging debts, WIP (Work-in-Progress), and cash flow.
Assist with monthly forecasting of billings and cash collections.
Participate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
Experience: 4+ years of relevant billing experience; experience in a professional services firm is preferred.
Language: Fluency in French is required.
Industry Knowledge: Experience billing large-scale, major government agency projects is an asset.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
Contract Knowledge: Solid understanding of standard contract terms (hourly, lump sum, not-to-exceed) and their application to billing processes.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills required (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
Familiarity with general accounting software packages.
Soft Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Team player with a proactive approach.
