About our client

Our client is a well-established economic development company that helps with the investment of real estate such as industrial, new land development, and residential properties. They are looking for an experienced 'hands-on' BOOKKEEPER to join their fast-paced entrepreneurial team in Downtown Vancouver. Please note, this is an ongoing part-time temporary position, 2 days a week. Hourly wage ranges from $25-35

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for the month-end close process
• Administer accounts payable process including receipt of invoices, coordination of approvals, preparation of invoice entries and vendor set-up
• Review the accuracy and approval of expense reports, including supporting documentation
• Liaise with property accountants for payment of invoices received at the corporate office
• Maintain hard copy and electronic invoice files to enable efficient AP filing
• Create accounts receivable invoices for billings and maintain inter-company reconciliation
• Maintain cash reconciliations to monitor daily cash position
• Perform payroll
• Manage the opening and closing of bank accounts

Qualifications

• At least 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role within a high-volume environment
• Experience and understanding of computerized accounting systems (Yardi would be an asset)
• Public company or real estate experience is a plus
• Attention to detail
• Good communicator
• Ability to work individually and as a part of a team
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• A positive attitude, team player, and exceptional interpersonal skills
• Results-oriented
• Ability to work quickly and accurately
