Our tier 1 client who is one of Canada's best managed operations is seeking a talented Assistant Payroll Manager to lead a dynamic team responsible for processing high-volume, biweekly payroll (9000+ employees) across multiple provinces. If you’re a hands-on leader with strong payroll knowledge and thrive in a fast-paced environment, our client would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and support a team of payroll administrators
Oversee full-cycle payroll, audits, and reporting
Maintain time & attendance systems (ADP, Kronos, WFN)
Ensure compliance with federal/provincial payroll regulations
Liaise with retail locations, providing timely solutions
Handle ROEs, payroll inquiries, and assist with accounting tasks
Qualifications:
5+ years in a payroll leadership role, ideally in retail
Proven experience processing payroll for 2000+ employees
Strong knowledge of multi-province ESA and payroll legislation
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Detail-oriented, adaptable, and deadline-driven
CPM designation (or in progress) is required
Bilingual in French is a strong asset
