Our client is a leading manufacturing company with a strong presence in multiple entities across the region. We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Controller to join our team and contribute to the company's success.
The Assistant Controller (plant business partner) who is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and possesses expertise in complex consolidations, integration of consolidation tools, process optimization, and efficiency enhancements across multiple entities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of excellence, a collaborative nature, and the ability to foster relationships with stakeholders. Experience in the US GAAP framework, a manufacturing background, and proficiency in Advanced Excel and SAP are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in monthly close process, including journal entry posting, review, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Gather necessary information for month-end accruals and post journal entries.
• Prepare monthly financial review package for plant and collaborate with operations and finance teams for review.
• Conduct various financial reporting, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Support daily operational costing needs and periodic production reporting.
• Develop, monitor, and update plant overhead standards and related work, including understanding routing and allocation measures.
• Manage inventory accounting and analysis.
• Maintain and report fixed assets ledgers and capitalization.
• Review and analyze Capex reports.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions.
• Participate in financial audits and SOX compliance, assisting with internal audit procedures.
• Provide leadership and direction to Cost Accountant(s), Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable Administrator(s).
• Handle monthly HST filing and reporting.
• Estimate annual tax provisions for divisional forecast reporting.
• Coordinate with Corporate for year-end tax calculations and disclosures.
• Manage corporate tax return filing in accordance with deadlines.
• Assist in preparing the annual Controller Model File.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Extensive experience in complex consolidations, P&L and financial reporting.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment strong costing/inventory is required
- Proven track record of process optimization and efficiency enhancements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Experience with US GAAP.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry or transferrable sectors.
- Working experience with an ERP accounting software (JDE, Hyperion, SAP) is a must
