Position Title: Analyst, Settlement & Structured Transactions
Location: Ottawa, ON / Gatineau, QC

Work Model: Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite

They are currently seeking an Analyst, Settlement & Structured Transactions, who will collaborate to manage settlement associated with energy market trading and structured transaction agreements.

As Analyst, Settlement & Structured Transactions, you will ensure that daily and monthly settlement tasks are completed and validated, ensuring the accounting entries are done for invoicing and month-end estimates while respecting the accounting organizational standards. You will conduct research and analysis to remain current with market rules that impact settlement and revenues, tracking and meeting obligations within structured transaction agreements to ensure compliance with contract terms. You will analyze current settlement processes, procedures and reports for continued optimization. You will provide proper regulatory reporting to Regulatory Agencies and Governments. You will be working with various departments and external counterparties to understand, document and resolve settlement disputes. This way, you can support growth through due diligence, support the integration of new assets and new initiatives while providing additional support to Regional Manager, Settlement & Structured Transactions and provide various updates on daily activities.

The Ideal Candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related financial/quantitative discipline with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in a related field, preferably energy. They will require advanced Excel skills (i.e. Macros, Pivot Tables, PowerQuery) and demonstrate complete comprehension of the following areas; structured transaction agreements, corporate company structure, market settlement, charge code algorithms to develop a shadow calculation, validation process and the corporate structure to allocate the revenues to the correct legal entities. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic learner who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment and display strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail while working in a conscientious, consistent and thorough manner.
