Our client is seeking a keen, “up and comer”, entry level Accounting Technician looking to build their experience. Looking to capitalize on your education and launch your accounting career in a robust accounting team, our client is looking to add some support and looking for an Accounting Technician to report to the Accounting Manager and Controller.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Prepare and complete monthly bank and trust account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Process building permit transactions and maintain organized, up-to-date financial records related to permits and development activities.
  • Prepare Statements of Adjustments and accurately post sales closings in accordance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Assist with year-end working papers and provide support during the annual audit process, including documentation preparation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Provide Accounts Payable support as required, including invoice processing, coding, and payment coordination.
  • Process intercompany and related company chargebacks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support the Accounting & Finance team with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this Accounting Technician role holds a university degree or college diploma in Accounting or a related field and brings entry level accounting experience from co-op or internships. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. You are coachable and eager to learn and take direction to help launch your career. Strong communication and interpersonal skills allow them to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency with Excel and adaptability to other computer and financial applications ensures they can efficiently handle reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting duties.
