Our Client, a leading producer of functional aluminates and specialty chemicals, is looking for an experienced ACCOUNTING MANAGER to join their Richmond team on a permanent full-time basis. you will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Responsibilities
- Staff Management:
Manage and guide a team of accounting professionals by assigning tasks, offering training, conducting performance reviews, and resolving issues.
Delegate duties based on team members' skills and current workload. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare and verify accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Analyze financial data to spot trends, risks, and areas for improvement. - Budgeting and Forecasting:
Create and oversee departmental budgets.
Develop financial forecasts aligned with business goals and market trends.
Track expenses relative to the budget and pinpoint opportunities for cost savings. - Accounting Operations:
Supervise the general ledger, ensuring correct transaction entries.
Oversee accounts receivable and payable functions.
Review and reconcile bank statements for accuracy. - Tax Compliance:
Collaborate with tax experts to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
Stay informed on tax laws and manage potential tax obligations. - Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and reduce financial risks.
Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with other departments (e.g., sales, operations) to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Clearly and effectively communicate financial information to key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- CPA
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA license preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in ERP accounting software and data analysis tools
- Leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
