About the Role
Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and lead a high-performing team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient AP processing, and strong audit readiness within a dynamic and service-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead core financial functions including Accounts Payable, Accounting, Inventory Management, and Research/Grant Administration.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close and ensure accurate financial statements and automated reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance, and support internal and external audits.
- Manage AP operations including vendor payments, reimbursements, EFTs, wires, and corporate credit card programs.
- Oversee reporting for research grants and other third-party funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government requirements.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
- Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders; represent the organization in audits, meetings, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Support budgeting, operational planning, process improvements, and implementation of financial systems and reporting tools.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Degree in Accounting/Business with 7+ years of financial management experience or Master’s in Finance with 5+ years of experience.
- Background in a large, complex healthcare or service-based organization preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and AP best practices.
- Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, team development, and performance management.
