About the Role

Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and lead a high-performing team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient AP processing, and strong audit readiness within a dynamic and service-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead core financial functions including Accounts Payable, Accounting, Inventory Management, and Research/Grant Administration.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close and ensure accurate financial statements and automated reporting.
  • Strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance, and support internal and external audits.
  • Manage AP operations including vendor payments, reimbursements, EFTs, wires, and corporate credit card programs.
  • Oversee reporting for research grants and other third-party funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government requirements.
  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders; represent the organization in audits, meetings, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support budgeting, operational planning, process improvements, and implementation of financial systems and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required.
  • Degree in Accounting/Business with 7+ years of financial management experience or Master’s in Finance with 5+ years of experience.
  • Background in a large, complex healthcare or service-based organization preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and AP best practices.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, team development, and performance management.
