Job Description

Our tier 1 client is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to lead consolidated external reporting, technical accounting, and tax compliance for a publicly listed company on the TSX and NASDAQ. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for a Big 4-5 trained CPA who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own quarterly reviews and year-end audits; serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.

  • Prepare and review complex accounting memos (M&A, equity instruments, share-based payments, derivatives, leases, revenue recognition).

  • Oversee Canadian and U.S. tax compliance, including corporate, sales, payroll, and excise taxes; manage external tax advisors.

  • Ensure strong SOX-compliant internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Drive close, consolidation, and reporting process improvements, leveraging D365, FloQast, and automation tools.

  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, Legal, and executive leadership on reporting, transactions, and M&A integration.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required; Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm training strongly preferred.

  • 7–10 years of progressive financial reporting experience, including leadership responsibility.

  • Strong IFRS technical expertise and experience with complex accounting areas.

  • Public company reporting experience required (TSX / NASDAQ preferred).

  • Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax compliance.

  • Proven ability to lead audits, improve processes, and operate in a regulated environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner with senior stakeholders.

This is a strategic opportunity to own external reporting for a dual-listed public company while helping modernize and scale the finance function.
