About the Role:

Our client in the Real Estate space is adding a Tax Accountant to their team. The Tax Accountant plays a key role in supporting Canadian tax compliance and reporting. This position is responsible for preparing federal and provincial income tax returns, maintaining supporting workpapers and documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely filings. The Tax Accountant will collaborate with third-party service providers and operating partners to address ongoing tax matters and maintain compliance across various entities.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review workpapers and supporting schedules for Canadian income tax compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of federal, provincial, and local tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate corporate and partnership tax reporting, including ACB and At-Risk account tracking.
  • Calculate and prepare estimated tax payments and tax due computations.
  • Respond to tax authority inquiries and notices in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax provisions and related reporting for Canadian entities.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of tax experience within a CPA firm or corporate tax departments
  • Education in Finance & Accounting or related field
  • Enrolled in In Depth Tax courses considered a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Exposure to the real estate industry a strong asset
