About Our Client:

Our client is hiring an Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. They are a leader in the real estate industry with operations across residential, land development, and commercial property management. The focus is on preparing accurate filings and financial statements across multiple divisions.

About the Role

The Accountant will support the Financial Reporting team in preparing financial statements, filings, and year-end working papers for several business units. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure to diverse entities, corporate tax compliance, and multi-entity reporting, without the audit workload common in public practice.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare interim and year-end financial statements, supporting schedules, and working paper files.
  • Assist with corporate tax filings, including nominee corporations and joint ventures.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior finance leaders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-2 years of accounting or financial reporting experience; exposure to public practice or real estate is an asset.
  • CPA designation in progress (or international equivalent).
  • Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; knowledge of CaseWare, TaxPrep, CanTax, Newstar, or Yardi is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
