Financial Reporting Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support general accounting, fixed assets, banking, and month-end close activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with divisional teams and Corporate Treasury, contributing to accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly cash flow reports and submit to Corporate Treasury through an online reporting system

  • Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve out-of-balance issues with divisions

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end close in ERP and consolidation systems

  • Complete quarterly reporting schedules, including fixed assets, accrual roll-forwards, and lease commitments

  • Monitor divisional close activity to ensure accurate consolidation reporting

  • Prepare audit support schedules and maintain annual audit files

  • Support AR, AP, fixed assets, and departmental expense reviews as required

  • Assist with quarterly business plan and consolidation reporting

  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and team collaboration

  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, health & safety standards, and quality requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA designation or active

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing or automotive preferred)

  • Strong Excel skills and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred); consolidation system experience is an asset

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

  • Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal supervision
