About Our Client:

Our client, a leading insurance company, is hiring an Accounting Associate for a temporary contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with underwriters to review and resolve facultative data issues (missing/incorrect data, certificates).
• Prepare payment requests for reinsurers, secure approvals, and send to shared services for processing.
• Notify reinsurers of payments and maintain accurate settlement records.
• Manage Boiler Inspection and Insurance billing, settlements, and related premium/LOB reclass entries.
• Assist the IFRS 17 team lead with data reconciliation.
• Support journal upload processes and ensure proper accounting entries.
• Perform various ad hoc tasks and projects within the reinsurance accounting function.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Experience with accounting processes, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with underwriters, finance teams, and external reinsurers.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Prior reinsurance or insurance accounting experience is an asset.
