About Our Client

Our client, a leading global insurance organization, is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join their Finance team.

Summary

Reporting into Finance, this role focuses on accounts receivable for premiums and accounts payable for claims/losses, ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial controls.

Duties

  • Manage AR (premium collections net of commission), including reconciliations, cash application, and aging
  • Process AP for claims/losses, including payments and cash calls
  • Post and analyze premiums, commissions, claims, and accruals (IFRS)
  • Support month-end/quarter-end close, reporting, and audits
  • Partner with Underwriting, Claims, and Treasury to resolve discrepancies and improve processes

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of insurance/reinsurance accounting experience required
  • Strong understanding of AR (premiums) and AP (claims/losses) processes
  • Knowledge of IFRS and insurance accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel; ERP experience (Oracle an asset)
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills
