About Our Client

Our client is looking for a General Accountant for an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is onsite in Down Town Toronto.

Responsibilities

As the Accountant you will be responsible for general ledger activities and financial statement preparation. The Accountant will process monthly journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis for reporting and decision making. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for billing, processing cash payments and receipts, and maintaining fixed assets listing. As the Senior Accountant you will also seek out process improvements, make recommendations, and implement improvements with documentation. Experience with NetSuite is an asset. Our client is looking for someone well-rounded, and willing to help in anyway they can.
  • Prepare/ post month end journal entries into the ERP on a timely basis to meet the tight month end schedule
  • Prepare monthly accruals for expenses incurred, invoices not processed and received
  • Prepare GL reconciliations monthly and reconcile/ investigate all differences
  • Prepare financial statements to report results monthly
  • manage all AP and AR functions
Qualifications
  • Pursuit of an accounting designation CPA (preferred)
  • Experience with NetSuite or Sage preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting position
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel
  • Intermediate to Advanced ERP systems experience
