Working with asset owners or syndicates, our client provides exceptional client service in asset management, property management, project management and long-term leasing. Investors receive monthly financial statements and detailed accounting records to be able to make the sound decisions required when investing in real estate. By maintaining occupancy levels, building business efficiencies, and repositioning or redeveloping assets, our client is committed to providing the best client experience in the industry. We have an immediate opening for a solid Accountant to join this growing team and be part of a dynamic organization. We are looking for an Accountant who brings an understanding or genuine interest in the commercial property management space. You will work with a strong Director and V-CFO to help with the reconciliations and month end close processes. Working with a savvy system, you will be responsible for maintain the general ledger accounting and ensuring the integrity of the month end close process. You will take ownership for the journal entry preparation, prepare and review bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow reporting on a timely basis. The Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reporting packages for investors and include amortization and loan schedules and a detailed variance analysis when needed. You will maintain the balance sheet schedules and work with property managers to share financial information for their benefit. You will act as the main point of contact for the auditors on year end audits and reviews of financial statements and working papers, and ensure all relevant information is accessible. We are looking for an Accountant who loves to look for business efficiencies and way to improve process through better internal controls. You will stay on top of the tenant receivables, and work with the property managers to aid in collections, bad debt or any write offs. The Accountant will also ensure all accounts payable have been entered and processed accurately, and is responsible for the MPAC submissions and reporting requirements.



The Ideal Candidate will have a degree in Accounting or Business Administration and bring a minimum of 2 years of full cycle accounting experience. Previous experience working in public accounting or in commercial real estate would be considered a huge asset. A CPA designation is highly desirable but not required. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of applying their critical thinking skills to their role. You will be highly adaptable to new systems and processes and bring a genuine passion and interest in the commercial or residential real estate industry. If you are someone who likes to have clear goals and plans and know how to work towards timelines and deadlines with minimal hand holding, this role is for you. As a results-oriented Accountant, you will have a sense of urgency to bring issues to a close and make suggestions for ways to improve. You will be a true problem solver who can develop and define alternatives and be a strong communicator who can bring forth ideas in a clear and concise manner. We are looking for someone who is a team player, knows how to develop and nurture relationships, but also be held accountable to their deliverables.



What will make you stand out:
  • 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience within a real estate firm preferred
  • Excellent computer skills to be able to adapt to new technologies
  • Diligence and attention to detail to bring to the reporting function
  • Proven team player who isn’t afraid to get into the weeds
  • Collaborative with cross functional groups
