About Our Client: Our client a premier distributor of food products is seeking a talented Accountant. The candidate who demonstrates experience in a high-paced and volume environment coupled with a great attitude/aptitude will join a well-developed and collaborative accounting team!
Responsibilities:
- Full cycle Accounts Payable duties including 3-way matching and assisting with month-end close duties
- Preparing payments and ensuring they are in accordance with schedules and terms
- Process up to 100 invoices a day with accuracy and efficiency
- Reconcile AP transactions to vendor statements
- Month end closing
- Posting Journal Entries
- GST/HST filings
- Bank reconciliations and Accounts Receivable duties as required
- Filing and other administrative duties
- Corresponding with various departments and their respective Managers to collect relevant information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable function with sound exposure to general accounting experience (up to trial balance)
- Experience in the high SKU environment will be essential with the ability to analyze and problem solve
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort in speaking with Senior Leadership
- Positive and collaborative attitude; must be willing to work closely with the team and make valuable contributions when necessary
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Experience with MS Dynamics Great Plains is a strong asset
