They are currently seeking a talented Design Engineer – AV Integration & Automation to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys transforming client requirements into innovative, functional system designs while working on sophisticated, high-end projects.

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent (Permanent contract arrangements may also be considered)
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually + Comprehensive Benefits + Performance-Based Commission Opportunities

Responsibilities

As the Design Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams to design integrated AV and automation solutions for luxury residential and commercial environments.

System Design & Engineering

• Design integrated audiovisual, automation, networking, and smart technology solutions for residential and commercial projects.
• Develop detailed system layouts based on architectural drawings and client requirements.
• Produce equipment schedules, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.

Project Collaboration

• Work closely with Sales and Project Management teams to develop customized technical solutions.
• Participate in project planning and design reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with installers, technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and successful project execution.

Site Assessment & Technical Support

• Conduct site visits to verify field conditions, collect measurements, and identify installation requirements.
• Resolve design challenges by providing practical engineering solutions.
• Support project teams with technical documentation and design modifications throughout construction.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate project documentation and design revisions.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and attention to detail across all project deliverables.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in AV integration and automation.

Qualifications

Required

• Proven experience designing integrated AV, automation, or smart technology systems.
• Strong understanding of:

• Audiovisual systems
• Home automation
• Lighting control
• Motorized shading systems
• Surveillance and security systems
• Network infrastructure

• Experience creating technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
• Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred

• Experience with AutoCAD, D-Tools, Bluebeam, or similar design software.
• Experience working on luxury residential projects (commercial experience will also be considered).
• Familiarity with leading smart home and AV integration technologies.
• Customer-facing experience supporting project changes and technical discussions.
