About our Client

Our client, a modern recreation center with first-rate food and beverage offerings, a wide choice of amenities and programming, and unmatched customer service is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Vancouver on a full-time permanent basis. The shifts run from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Thursday to Monday. This position offers a wage rate of $28.62 (Unionized). Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and preparing ice rinks.
  • Maintain the physical infrastructure, boilers, and other general equipment including the plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems on a regular and preventive basis.
  • Identifying defects and problems to repair them timely.
  • Creating a bill of materials for the parts needed to disassemble and repair components.
  • Using various hand tools to repair and reinstall large machinery.
  • Applying lubricants such as oils, greases, and graphite

Qualifications

  • Must have two years of arena ice experience, Level I Ice Technician certification, and "Ice Facility Operator (IFO)”.
  • Class 4 Power Engineering Certification, experience with power tools, water chemistry, pool care, and a background in plumbing and electrical work.
  • Must be able to operate both independently and cooperatively in a team.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be committed to attendance and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient oral and written communication skills
