Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Financial Controller oversees all accounting and financial reporting for the Property division. This role ensures financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective budgeting while leading and mentoring the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations (journal entries, AP/AR, reporting) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow across properties, including loan/cash reports.
• Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and board reports for executives.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and risk management strategies.
• Support property budgets, mortgage approvals, and tax refunds through financial analysis.
• Oversee payroll budgeting and pre-opening budgets for new properties.
• Hire, mentor, and develop the finance team to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Business or Accounting with a CPA required.
• 7 plus years of experience in real estate, apartments, hospitality, or retirement homes.
• Proficiency in Excel and Yardi is required.
